Project Details: Chelmsford Kitchen Remodel
This small, very traditional condominium has been lovingly refurbished by its new owners. Wanting his bride of many years to have the best, they turned to their kitchen professional for guidance to transform their worn and predictable U-shaped kitchen into something more eye-catching and functional.
Moving the sink from under the window to the open corner was key to accomplishing their goals. The stove could then move away from the refrigerator. The storage is improved, and now the owners have a cabinet and countertop space to the left of the stove, as well as longer stretches of uninterrupted space. The composition of the wall cabinets is much more balanced and pleasing to the eye. The decision to give up some storage for open shelves affords the pleasure of decorating for each holiday or displaying collectables.
Special Design Features:
The benefits of this design don't stop. With the sink positioned differently, the work area welcomes social opportunities. While loading or unloading the dishwasher or when preparing food, someone can chat with friends, all without them being in the workspace. Cabinetry with a bead board detail was stained a warm cinnamon. It complements the Williamsburg style of their condominium and brings a feeling of warmth and comfort to the home. Solid surface countertops provide a lighter, softer feel to the surface. The visually seamless countertop installation works especially well in this configuration.
These homeowners are so happy and proud of their new kitchen, with its timeless but refreshing look, new amenities and comfortable feel.
