Project Details:Hooksett, New Hampshire - Kitchen Remodel
This Hooksett, NH kitchen was remodeled after a fire ravaged the relatively new home. The homeowners knew they wanted to expand the footprint, upgrade the appliances, and add more style and flair to their kitchen. The island was expanded so that the sink and dishwasher could fit into it. Now, the homeowner doesn’t prepare food or do dishes with her back to her family and guest. Moving the sink also allowed much more countertop space and cabinet storage adjacent to the sink and adjacent to the stove.
Special Design Features:
The stove designed in the corner, to create good use of the corner space and allows more space besides the refrigerator. With a chimney-style hood with molding detail, tile backsplash and accenting lights over the stove. The kitchen is much more visually balanced and pleasing to the eye, the quality and quantity of storage by the stove is improved, and now there is extra space for all their pretty glassware. The dishes are stored in specially fitted drawers. A wine refrigerator was added. And still there is abundant storage for all the other kitchens necessities and niceties! Cabinets on the back of the island were bumped up in height making great pantry storage. In fact, the former pantry closet now houses all of the audio/video electronics. The raised countertop is enjoyed for displaying collectables, for buffet serving, and partying!
And then there’s the style and the flair: highly detailed birch cabinetry in a rich, burnished finish, hand carved corbels, fluted pilasters, matching light rail, detailed edging on the granite countertops, lighting that is both enhancing and functional, tile floors and backsplash so carefully chosen, and stainless steel in just the right amount. While anxious to get back into their home and out of temporary housing, these homeowners are happy that they took time to create a more stylish and functional kitchen the second time around.
